Drinking a Timmy's in Canada!

Sunday, August 29, 2010

I had my first Timmy's coffee during my 3rd week here and now I'm trying to catch up by having one a day. Gotta love that Timmy's coffee. ;-)

It really has been busy with friends and family dropping by almost on a daily basis. I have managed to squeeze in a few visits and some shopping, but all were done in haste. It isn't easy to just get up and go with kids anymore. I usually need to find a babysitter (Thanks, Jen!) or I just take the kids along, but then I find myself rushing and forgetting something that is even on my shopping list! I can't really call this a vacation, though. I just slipped back into my old life style with the addition of two small kids.

So many good things have happened during our stay here: a friend just gave birth to a baby girl; my cousin from Toronto came to visit for a few days and met her nephews; my youngest learned to walk with confidence and my oldest has picked up lots of Italian and English words. However, the most important thing that happened is the joy my two little ones brought to my parents. The nonni (grandparents) are very happy to have them around. It is always a "Kodak moment" around here. :-)

In a few days, we'll be heading back home. We have had so much fun hanging out with family and seeing old friends. Unfortunately, we weren't able to squeeze everyone in, though. One month sure isn't enough time. I would have stayed longer but the hubby doesn't want to be away from the kids for too long (I can't blame him).

I am looking forward to going back home. Home is where the heart is. I'll give an update on how my trip to Italy went once I'm back. I hope everyone is having a great summer! I'll see y'all when I get back.

Much love from the Great White North!

I am so happy you got to see your family Rosie! It sounds like you had a wonderful time. You must be missing hubby, though. Looking forward to hearing about Italy.

You sound so happy - savoring and enjoying. Vacations can be a lot of work - but it is wonderful to experience new things with children. And share with family.

Oooooh,..It is great to know that you had a lovely time over there in Canada , meeting & greeting the family, old friends, etc.

A month isn't enough indeed!

Kisses from Brussels to you!

Unfortunately the only way for a mom to have a real vacation (like you see on tv sitting back on the beach lovin up the sun and having not a care in the world) is for her to go on vacation with out her children. I can't do it though!!! I am okay to be away from them for a few hours but after that, all I do is think about them or want to call them repeatedly. My husband is the same, we'll go out for date night and the only thing we talk about is the kids : )

So glad you are having time with your family! I look forward to hearing about your travels! Ciao Bella : )

Rosie...you certainly sound like you're making the best of the squeezed time you've had back here in Canada. Glad to know that your heart and soul is really with your very tight knit 'famiglia' ;o)
Looking forward to reading about Italy.

Have a safe flight home.

Ciao for now,
Claudia

You and I used to talk about Tim's coffee in Germany and now I get to enjoy it fresh whenever I want it. BUT I always think about you when I am there.

Oh I like this new Comment Approval thing.. :-)

@Arianna,

Heeeeey! It so good to hear from you!! I missed your comments on my blog. :-)

Germany isn't the same without my Arianna and her kids. Miss you guys lots and lots.

I had as many Timmy's as I could while I was there. I found that I don't like my usual "large double double" ... I always got a small with cream. After living in Germany for 4 years, I don't have much of sweet tooth anymore, which is probably a good thing! LOL

Later gaiter.
